Ban the US Dollar as global trade currency
The ongoing tariffs imposed by the Trump administration have created significant instability and unpredictability in global trade, prompting a reevaluation of the U.S. dollar's dominance as the primary global trade currency. This reliance on the dollar subjects other nations to the whims of U.S. economic policy, which can lead to adverse effects on their economies. In contrast, the South African rand presents a compelling alternative, especially considering that South Africa is home to two-thirds of all gold ever mined. Gold has historically been a stable store of value, and leveraging the rand could enhance trade stability and foster a more equitable global economic environment. By shifting towards the rand, countries could reduce their vulnerability to U.S. tariffs and promote a more balanced international trade system.
