Petition to E-hailing Drivers and more...

Ridebox Technologies is a South African-born innovation company dedicated to solving the real-world logistical and safety hurdles of urban mobility. Our mission is to bridge the gap between digital e-hailing services and physical infrastructure. We are developing the Ridebox Kiosk: a solar-powered, cashless, and AI-driven hub that allows commuters to book rides and access Wi-Fi without needing a smartphone or personal data.

The Problem: A Growing Crisis in Our Streets Currently, the South African e-hailing sector is under immense pressure. Drivers face increasing safety risks, including "smash-and-grabs" and hijackings, while commuters are often excluded due to the "digital divide"—lacking high-end smartphones or expensive mobile data. Furthermore, recent regulatory shifts and the National Land Transport Amendment Act demand higher safety and compliance standards that current "app-only" models struggle to meet on their own.

Our Strategy: Why Your Signature Matters Ridebox Technologies will use this petition as formal evidence of market demand to achieve three critical goals:

Lobbying the Department of Transport & Local Municipalities: We will present this petition to the South African government to advocate for the official integration of "E-hailing Kiosks" into urban planning. We want to secure permits for safe, well-lit, and solar-powered "Ridebox Zones" in transit hubs.

Partnering with Industry Leaders (Uber, Bolt, etc.): We will use this collective voice to prove to major e-hailing platforms that drivers and riders want a physical touchpoint. This will help us integrate their APIs directly into our kiosks, ensuring more trips for you and more safety for the passenger.

Standardizing Safety & Compliance: By showing the government that thousands of drivers support a solar-powered infrastructure, we can help shape future policies that prioritize driver safety over "app-only" vulnerability.

The Demand We, the undersigned, call upon the Department of Transport, Municipal Authorities, and E-Hailing Platform Providers to support the rollout of Ridebox Kiosks. We demand:

Physical Booking Points to reduce the risk of phone theft.

Solar-Powered Reliability to ensure the transport network remains active during load-shedding.

Inclusive Access for commuters who do not own smartphones, expanding the customer base for every driver in South Africa.

Call to Action Sign today to move South Africa toward a safer, smarter, and more inclusive transport future. Your signature is a vote for innovation that puts South African drivers and citizens first.
