Stop the night time noise levels at Kwambonambi Primary School
To: The Principal and School Governing Body
Kwambonmabi Primary School
Dear Principal and Members of the School Governing Body,
We, the undersigned residents of the neighbourhood adjacent to Kwambonambi Primary, are writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the recent disturbances caused by the church activities held on the school sports field during the school holidays.
As you are aware, the school has rented out its sports field to a church that has erected a tent for their activities. This arrangement occurs every school holiday. While we understand the need for community engagement and support, we must express our deep concern and frustration over the repeated disturbances caused by these activities, particularly during nighttime hours.
Despite previous complaints and an agreement that noise levels would be kept to a minimum during nighttime hours, we regret to inform you that this agreement has not been honoured. On 11 July 2025, the church began singing at 2:30 AM and continued until 5:30 AM. This is totally unacceptable and in direct violation of the agreement made with the residents.
Furthermore, we find it unacceptable that we are not informed in advance about the church's presence on school grounds every holiday. This lack of communication and transparency is causing significant distress among the residents.
We urge you to take immediate action to address these issues:
- Ensure that noise levels are strictly controlled during nighttime hours i.e. No music and singing until 9am as per the agreement.
- Provide advance notice to residents regarding any future rentals of the sports field, as per the prior agreement.
- Consider alternative arrangements that would minimize disruption to the neighborhood.
We hope that you will take our concerns seriously and work towards a resolution that respects both the needs of the school and the rights of the residents. Failure to address these issues may result in further action being taken by the community.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Kwambonambi Residents

The noise is unacceptable. Even though I live one street down from the school i still have to close all my windows and doors to try muffle out the constant singing and shouting.
